Young People at
St Nicholas' Church, Arundel

Babies and toddlers and their parents or carers meet on Friday mornings during school term times at 9.30 am. The adults appreciate each others' company and have coffee together while their little ones are entertained with stories and activities. All are welcome - just turn up or, for more details, contact Mary Butler on 01903 882650

Preschool children
During church services preschool children are provided for in an area set aside for them furnished with carpet, cushions and toys and books. Being located at the back of a side aisle the children's area gives parents the ability to move around easily more than they could in the more formal pew seating during church services.

Our Sunday Group

We welcome children of Primary School age to Sunday Group each Sunday from 10.00am.

Older children are welcome to join us if numbers do not exceed 18. On most Sundays the children, who rejoin the congregation at communion time, give a presentation about what they have discussed that morning. On the first Sunday of each month the 10.00 am service is a family Eucharist, with the young people taking active roles as readers, altar servers, leading intercessions and offertory assistants.

For more information about what we do, or to find out how you or your child can get involved with Sunday Group, please contact the Parish Office 01903 882 262.

The St Nicholas' Junior Choir
A Junior Choir sings with the adults at two services each month, including the Family Service on the first Sunday of each month, sometimes at Evensong, and on special occasions such as the Advent and Christmas Carol Services, for community carol singing, and at the Arundel Festival Service The Junior Choir rehearses on Fridays from 6.00 pm to 6.40 pm in school term time. Rehearsals are fun and the children work not just on music for the services but also receive aural training and some general musical knowledge and reading of music. The present age range is from ten to fourteen years but younger children are welcome. There are no auditions but, to get the most out of the practices, they need to be able to concentrate reasonably well and to read words with a fair amount of fluency. More details from the Director of Music, Sarah Plumley (01903 883265).

The Junior Junior Choir
For children of primary school age, the Junior Junior Choir meets at the church on Fridays from 5.30 to 6.00pm when the younger children are helped to learn the basics of music and singing. The Junior Junior Choir sings at the Family Service on the first Sunday of each month and on certain special occasions. More details from the leader, Victoria Read (01903 883 086)
