Worship at St Nicholas

Worship lies at the heart of our life at St Nicholas’. You are warmly invited to join us at any of our regular services. Our churches stand within the catholic tradition of the Church of England and this is reflected in our worship. Please note that from time to time our regular pattern of worship changes. For the latest information please see the list of services on the home page and our church calendar.

Sunday
Our main Sunday Service is at 10.00am each week. The first Sunday of the month is usually a 'family Mass' which, being slightly shorter, is suitable for people of all ages. On other weeks there is a traditional sung Mass, often with incense, and a Sunday Group for school-aged children during term time. For further information about joining Sunday Group please contact the parish office or speak to one of the welcomers on duty. Please note that all children wishing to attend Sunday Group must have a signed consent form (available from the Sunday group leader on the day) from a parent or guardian.

For those who prefer a quiet Communion service in traditional language, this is celebrated at 8.00am each week.

On the first Sunday of the month Evensong is sung at 6.00 pm.

Mid-week
There is a simple said Mass on Tuesdays at 6.30pm (preceded by the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 5.45 pm) and Fridays at 12.00. Holy Communion in traditional language is celebrated on Wednesdays at 10.00am. Our Wednesday service is usually followed by refreshments.
