Bell Tower Captains
Fr David has appointed Mrs Teresa Kendall as our new Tower Captain. Teresa, who lives in Arundel and was baptised and confirmed at St Nicholas, has been a member of the Lyminster team since she learnt to ring there as a teenager. She will be assisted in her new post by David Hall, Tower Captain at Lyminster. The Vicar and Churchwardens, and the bell ringers, are very grateful to Nicholas Plumley for his work as Acting Tower Captain for over twelve months from the time when Geoff Lee's final illness prevented Geoff from continuing in that role which he had filled so well for so many years.

Storm Damage
During a storm on 3 January, St Nicholas church suffered some damage. Part of the West window was blown inwards, and the weather vane and its spur came down. The window is now boarded. There is significant damage to the tower and stone parapet. The 14ft spur is perched on the tower. IT has been strapped in place until such time as it can be removed. As a precautionary measure, there wil be no bell ringing for the time being, and access to the North side of the church is restricted. There are photographs of the damage at the back of the church.

Women's World Day of Prayer 2012
..is Friday 2 March and has the theme 'Let Justice Prevail'. If you would like to be involved please speak to Victoria Skillicorn, tel: 882262.

A Prayer
This prayer is for the appointment of a new Bishop for the Diocese of Chichester, and may be used daily:
Eternal God, shepherd and guide, in your mercy give your Church in this diocese a shepherd after your own heart who will walk in your ways, and with loving care watch over your people. Give us a leader of vision and a teacher of your truth. So may your Church be built up and your name glorified; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Wholeness Ministry
A meeting of the healing group has resulted in some changes to the way our regular healing and wholeness ministry is conducted. The regular Sunday time will still apply each week but will be simplified and will involve silent laying on of hands and, if requested of a priest, anointing followed by a prayer. Should anyone wish for further prayer or scripture reading one or two of the Wholeness Team will be happy to spend time with you after the service. There will be specific services of healing and wholeness at advertised times next year, and preaching and teaching about this ministry during Lent 2012.

The Alternatives' CD
Our band The Alternatives has produced a CD entitled 'With Best Intentions'. It's available FREE for just a £10 donation to well-deserving charities. Please ask a member of the band for more details
