St Nicholas’ is not only a beautiful church, much commented on by visitors, but has a fascinating history going back many centuries.

Recent discoveries of ancient graffiti and masons’ marks made by the builders in the 14th century have added to the unique quality of the building.

One of our stewards, John Barkshire, has made a study of our church’s history and is giving guided tours during the Arundel Festival.

His tours will take place on:

Monday 20th at 2.30pm
Tuesday 21st at 2.30pm
Wednesday 22nd at 11.00am
Thursday 23rd at 2.30pm
Friday 24th at 11am

Anyone interested in the history of the church will be most welcome. There will be no charge for these tours, but donations at the end may be put in the donations chest at the back of the church and will go towards the Restoration Fund.
